Dr. Summers is one of the youngest executives in higher education and a prominent voice on issues impacting higher education and urban issues. He has written and publicly lectured on topics such as access to higher education, cost, affordability, management of higher education, developing sound community and government relations programs, and institutional effectiveness and management. He is also active in his academic discipline of public policy and conducts research on politics, community and economic development, housing policy, political processes, and democracy. Dr. Summers received a BA in Political Science and a Masters of Public Administration from Marist College. He holds a M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Public and Urban Policy from The New School.
Ryan Dejong, Director of Marketing and Communications
Earning a Bachelor’s from Western New England University in International Business & Marketing, Ryan began his career in hospitality in 2004 at the W Hotel in San Diego in Sales & Marketing. Ryan served as Marketing Manager for the repositioning of the Sofitel Los Angeles, then moved to The Beverly Hilton as Group Sales Manager. He then returned to the east coast to reinvent and manage his family business, Pineapple Day Spa. He managed the Hotel & Resort in Fire Island Pines for 3 seasons prior to working for Booker.com, a SAAS for service based businesses as a Sales Executive, which led him to begin freelance consulting as GOOROO GROUP. Ryan has worked with the premier hotel & resort digital marketing agency HEBS Digital before choosing to reposition his career, joining JetBlue as an Inflight Crewmember. Ryan now maintains a balance of creating a hospitality experience at 35,000 feet and traveling around the country while continuing to work with amazing teams like BE.IN.
